The Institute of Islamic Archaeology was established in 1992. The institute offers an MA Degree in Islamic Archaeology. This degree is part of the effort to promote in Islamic archaeology and architecture. It also works in conjunction with other activities such as excavations of sites and restoration of buildings, as well as increasing public awareness in the field of architectural heritage and Palestinian history.
